Terms of Service

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Tether.

1. About Tether

Tether is operated by Evan Larsen. Tether provides a reading experience designed to help users build a daily habit through scripture reading, progress tracking, and related features.

2. Eligibility and General Use

Tether is a general-audience service. By using Tether, you agree to use the app only in lawful ways and in accordance with these Terms.

You may use core reading features without creating an account, but some features, such as syncing, friends, and friend streaks, may require an account.

3. Accounts

If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for activity that occurs under it.

You agree to provide accurate information when creating and maintaining your account. You may not impersonate another person, use misleading account information, or use a display name that is unlawful, offensive, abusive, or intended to mislead others.

We may require account verification or additional steps to help protect account security.

4. Social Features

Tether may provide optional social features such as friends, friend codes, friend streaks, shared progress indicators, and related features.

By using social features, you agree not to:

• use inappropriate, offensive, or misleading display names
• harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• misuse friend codes, invitations, or account features
• attempt to manipulate streaks, progress, or other app systems through cheating, automation, exploitation, or abuse
• use Tether in a way that interferes with the experience of other users

We may remove or restrict access to social features, friend connections, display names, or accounts that violate these Terms or create safety, trust, or product integrity concerns.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• use Tether for unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purposes
• interfere with the operation, security, or integrity of the app
• attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data
• reverse engineer, exploit, scrape, or abuse the service except as permitted by law
• use bots, scripts, or other automated methods to misuse the app
• misrepresent your identity or affiliation

6. Service Changes and Availability

Tether is an evolving product. We may add, change, suspend, or remove features at any time, including account features, friend features, progress systems, and app content.

We do not guarantee that Tether or any specific feature will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.

7. Account Suspension or Termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to Tether, or to specific features, if we believe you have violated these Terms, created risk for other users, harmed the service, or used the app in an abusive or deceptive way.

You may stop using Tether at any time. If account deletion features are available, you may also request deletion of your account in accordance with our Privacy Policy and available app or support flows.

8. Intellectual Property

Tether, including its design, software, branding, features, and related materials, is owned by or licensed to Tether and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

These Terms do not give you ownership of the app or its underlying technology. Subject to these Terms, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, revocable permission to use Tether for its intended personal use.

9. Privacy

Your use of Tether is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and share information.

10. Disclaimers

Tether is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tether disclaims warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that the app will always be secure, available, accurate, or free from bugs or interruptions.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tether and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from or related to your use of the app.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the total liability of Tether and its operator for claims arising out of or relating to the service will be limited to the amount you paid to use Tether in the 12 months before the claim arose, or, if you paid nothing, a minimal amount permitted by law.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.

By continuing to use Tether after updated Terms become effective, you agree to the revised Terms.
